The United States Air Force Band of the Golden West Concert Band is soaring into Santa Barbara for a free concert at UCSB’s Lotte Lehmann Concert Hall at 7pm Friday February 17th 2012. This select group of 40 professional Airman-musicians from Travis Air Force Base has performed for millions of listeners and inspired enthusiastic critical acclaim as one of America’s premier musical organizations. Touring the western states of California, Oregon, Washington, Idaho and Nevada, the band travels thousands of miles every year entertaining audiences at numerous events. The Concert Band performs a wide variety of music from standard wind ensemble literature, orchestral transcriptions and military marches to jazz and pop arrangements, Broadway standards, and of course, patriotic music complete with instrumental soloists and featured vocalists.
